Privacy policy.
What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to reach us about it. Plain words. Last updated October 31, 2026.
1. Who we are
Splendid Engines ("we", "us") is a partnership in Canada between The F.P. Company and Gaul Corp, based in Ontario. We help B2B companies build pipeline through content made with practitioners. This policy covers our website and the work we do with clients, prospects, experts and anyone who contacts us.
Privacy contact. Evan Fradley-Pereira is responsible for how we handle personal information. Write to him at evan@splendidengines.com.
2. What we collect
- What you give us. What you send through our forms, by email or on calls: your name, work email, company, job title, LinkedIn profile, and whatever else you choose to share. For experts, that includes your expert profile and the terms you agreed to.
- Calls. We may record and transcribe calls to take notes and follow up accurately. If you'd rather a call not be recorded, tell us and we won't record it.
- Your visits to our website. Pages you view, how you got here, your browser and device, and your IP address, through cookies and similar tools. Our website uses a tool from Clay that may identify the company you work for, and in some cases you, from your visit.
- Public and business sources. Professional information about people we may work with, such as name, title, company, work email and public LinkedIn activity, from LinkedIn and business data providers.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive information, such as health or financial details, and we ask you not to send it.
3. How we use it
- To run our services for clients, and to produce, publish and promote the pieces we make.
- To match experts with pieces that fit, and contact them about those pieces.
- To reply when you contact us, and to follow up on calls.
- To reach out to businesses about our services. Every commercial email we send has a way to opt out.
- To understand how our website is used and make it better.
- To meet our legal obligations.
4. Consent
We collect, use and share personal information with your consent, or as the law allows. Sometimes consent is express, such as when you submit a form or tick a box. Sometimes it's implied by the situation, such as when you email us a question. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 9). That may limit what we can do for you, and we'll tell you if it does.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers. Companies that run tools we depend on, such as our CRM and forms (HubSpot), data and website insights (Clay), call recording and notes, email, scheduling, LinkedIn outreach, our database and website hosting. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Clients. When we work on a piece together. We share an expert's information with a client brand only after the expert says yes to working with them.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the people we work with.
- If our business changes hands, with whoever takes over, under this policy.
We don't sell personal information.
6. Where it's stored
Many of our service providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored there can be accessed by courts and authorities under local law.
7. How long we keep it
For as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, then for a reasonable period after that, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Published pieces stay published as agreed with the people in them.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information: access limited to the people who need it, accounts with strong sign-in protection, and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete. Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent. Tell us to stop using your information for a purpose, or stop all contact.
- Unsubscribe. Use the opt-out link in any commercial email, or reply and say so.
- Cookies. Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the website may then work less well.
- Where you live matters. Depending on where you live, including Quebec, the EU, the UK or some US states, you may have more rights, such as data portability. Ask and we'll honour them.
Send any request to evan@splendidengines.com. We reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Children
Our website and services are for working professionals. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell people we're working with directly.
Experts: the expert participation terms cover how we feature you and handle your profile in more detail.
